New York Alumnae Chapter, 2015
New York Alumnae Chapter

Welcome to the website of the New York Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, the first graduate chapter of our sorority. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two African-American students at Howard University.

New York Alumnae Chapter membership includes 150 women all diverse in age, background and profession. We share a common bond rooted in sisterhood, scholarship and service. Our service area spans the island of Manhattan river-to-river south of 155th Street.

We honor our missionary Founders, celebrate our sacred sisterhood and embark on a new century of committed public service through the Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:

  • Mary McLeod Bethune Scholarship
  • Delta GEMS

We are also well-known for our annual fundraising events,  most recently the Big Hats & Brims Scholarship Brunch and the Taste of Manhattan Food Event (featuring Kings Who Cook). Please enjoy your visit to our website.
